On offer today is a splendid genuine London Sterling Silver Handled Letter Opener which bears the Queens pattern which is very pleasing on the eyes. The piece has a genuine steel blade which has a mirrored finish. The handle is fully hallmarked with the letter s for 1813 along with the Lions Head, Lion Passant, Monarchs Head and the Makers mark which is FH - the makers mark for the famous FRANCIS HIGGINS II. The Silver handle on this particular letter opener is in terrific condition for its age as the photos reflect and looks very special. The marks are deep and clear on this piece. The letter opener is 21 cm in length and weighs a hefty 62 grammes.
