YOU ARE ON THE PAGE - SO MAKE AN OFFER! The vesta case is hallmarked Birmingham 1896, maker CSFS for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders and James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd of Birmingham. Has an heart shaped blank cartouche to the back, and also marked inside on the back'RISING'S PATENT STRIKER'. Opens and closes with a really good snap shut, and has a registration number on the side where the suspension ring is, registration numbner'274173' and also on the opposite front down the side. The striker is on the bottom as in the fourth picture above and has a ring and suspension ring on the side just under the hinge so could easily hang from your watch / albert chain!
Decorated with flowers to both sides and scrolls to each corner. 28.4 gms and measures approx. 5 cms x 4 cms with rounded corners. In exceptionally good overall condition for age and usage. Would be a superb addition to any collection and would display extremely well, especially with other Queen Victoria and silver examples.
A truely quality and extremely tactile piece. You will not find better! In'used' and left in un-cleaned condition, please take a look at the pictures above and ask any more questions you may have, also take a look at my other vesta matchsafe listings, thank you.
All of the above is my opinion. I would need to wait for cheque to clear before posting out. Any questions you may have, please do not hesitate to contact me, and I will do my best to answer as best I can, and if you require additional photographs please ask. Hopefully this will revert back sooner than anticipated, but the situation is out of my control. Thank you for your understanding.
